I am so sorry to hear about Rob. I purchased a new boat from Cabelas last year. He was such a gentleman and a pleasure to work with. My thoughts are with your family.

My most sincere sympathy to all of Rob's family and friends. I will miss all of our conversations, that beautiful, effortless smile and wonderful soul. Near twenty years was not enough time spent knowing you.

Robbie, my old friend. Upon learning of this tragedy a wave of sadness came over me. How could this happen now? Then a flood of memories of the many times we spent together "living life" slowly replaced the shock. The offshore fishing trip from hell; dehydrated, dislocated shoulder, and a broken toe all in one day on the boat and you still caught the trophy fish of the trip. Taking over command of my disabled SEA OX and getting Sea Tow to the rescue in the Race at LI Sound. My first deer in E. Haddam, first stripper, first trip to Moosehead Lake, so many more...Now I find myself wishing for just one more adventure to thank you for opening my life to the loyalty, friendship, and passion for living you shared with me on so many occasions. Until then, keep a lookout over us and God Bless to the Becher Family, we share in your sorrow.

On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI), we offer our sincere condolences to Frederick and Wesley and all of Robert's family and friends as you mourn his passing. May God whisper peace into your hearts, comfort, and heal them. We are grateful for Beach's service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service during the Cold War on the USS Trepang SSN-674 and to USSVI as a member of the Groton Base, USSVI. To our “Brother of the Dolphin” we say … "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. May you rest in peace and may God bless your loved ones who remain. Thank you for your service to our country."

Robert Gordon Becher, RM3(SS), US Navy, Now on Eternal Patrol.
Fair Winds and Following Seas Shipmate
