I extend my deepest sympathy to the Burns family. I traveled weekly to Watertown, MA with your Dad to pick up my grandson, Jordan, who was a student at Perkins School for the Blind. He was a wonderful, kind & caring man who always had an interesting story to tell. Although his job description was to only drive the van from East Windsor to Watertown and back that was never the way it was. He always helped me load Jordan's suitcase, wheel chair, back pack and Jordan himself into the van. For the kindness in his heart, I will always remember your Dad as a very special and compassionate man. Jordan & I were blessed knowing him.
May the Grace of God be with all of you to comfort you in this time of sorrow.
I was not able to attend the service but he is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dr. Burns was my genetics professor at Central in the late 1970's. Vivid memories still remain with me from his genetics lab class. Over the years I have thought of him often. I second what Denis has said: a life well lived. It was interesting to read of Dr. Burns' other life pursuits. My condolences to his family.

Dr. Burns was my academic advisor at Central and by happenstance I was just thinking of him yesterday and I saw this today that he had passed away. He encouraged me as an advisor. I did not know he graduated from OSU as I was on that very faculty for 11 years! My sympathies to the family but my admiration to Bob for what appeared to have been a life well lived!
