CAMPBELL, David Page

David Page Campbell, passed away October 14, 2013 in Virginia Beach, VA. He was born to Marguerite Campbell-Bauer and the late Lloyd Robert Campbell, in Schenectady NY on April 17, 1954. The family moved to Tarriffville, in September 1956 and from there to Stratford, in 1962. While in Stratford, David became interested in, and excelled at playing the piano. The family later moved to Chagrin Falls, OH for a time, and David was fortunate enough to find an accomplished pianist from the Cleveland Institute of Music to continue teaching him. The family moved back to Madison, where David spent the four years of his high school education. He was very active in school, joining the wrestling team and the choir, where he was voted best tenor in the 9th grade class. When he graduated from High School, he elected to go to Central Connecticut State College. Shortly after the beginning of his second year of college, he decided to join the Military, where he climbed the ranks quickly. David retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service, ultimately achieving the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, Fire Controlman. After leaving the service, he owned a tax service franchise until 2006. David loved music. He was a talented individual with numerous hobbies. He and had a strong spirit of adventure. In the latter years of his military service he decided to get his pilot's license and made use of it by taking his family on trips. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 392, Virginia Beach, and a long-time member of the Tidewater Scottish Society. He is survived by his son, Donald Campbell of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Deborah (Railey) Peltier of San Antonio, TX; and two grandchildren, Camden and Bryce Peltier. He is also survived by his mother, Marguerite Campbell-Bauer of Wethersfield, CT; four brothers, Lloyd Campbell of Naples, FL, Bruce (Valerie) Campbell of British Columbia, Peter (Lyida) Campbell of Springfield, MA, and Andrew Campbell of Gresham, OR; a former wife of over 25 years and trusted friend, Maria Luz Campbell Priester; numerous cousins and many friends.
Burial in Arlington National Cemetery will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation in his name be made to the American Liver Foundation.
