Bill Barry, referred to for over 60 years by my sister and I, as Uncle Bill, was and shall remain one of the most influential people in my life. I remember to this day the Christmas in (I belive it was) 1954 when Uncle Bill brought Aunt Adelaide to dinner to our home for the first time (and Uncle Bill helped me set up a monorial that had been a Christmas gift from that morning). I stil remember being introduced to Aunt Adelaide for the first time and thinking that she was one of the most beautiful ladies I had ever seen. I have displayed in my home a model powered wooden speed boat that Uncle Bill gave me when I was approximately four or five years old. Because I pass that toy ship literally every day, I think of Uncle Bill every day. We always looked forward to seeing Uncle Bill and Aunt Adelaide at our house, or his house, for family gatherings. When I was learning to play the piano, I learned the Marine Hymn and played it proudly for him on one of the many times the entire Barry Family came to our home (for one of the many pool parties we had with the Barrys). When I needed a confirmation sponsor, I chose Uncle Bill. When my dad took me on my first duck hunting trip, Uncle Bill and Bob came with us. Four weeks ago, I had printed a picture of Uncle Bill, taken on a duck hunting trip, with my dad in the late 1950's, that I was going to give to him on a planned trip to Connecticut this coming November, and, now I cannot give it to him…. To say that I am overcome with grief is an understatement. The world is a much different place without my Uncle Bill.

I knew Bill from playing golf with him few times. He had that shot around 80-90 yards, every time close to hole. Usually got the putt! Yes, he was really a soft spoken wonderful man. We were lucky enough to enjoy his presence. My condolences to all.

Mrs Barry,Tm,Colleen and Kathleen:

I am deeply saddened by Mr. Barry's passing. I did not know until I received Tim's voice mail message on Sunday afternoon. If I had known, I would have been there for you.

Bill was like a father to Bob Burnham and he loved and respected him very much. Bill was always kind to us and was a big part of Bob's life for many years.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
