Cindy and Family: So sorry to hear of Cousin Bobby's passing. I am glad Bobby was able to come to mother's funeral in 2007. I will always treasure the fun we had growing up visiting with Bobby, Bruce, Aunt Grace, and Uncle Bob. Oh, the joy we will have soon seeing everyone again for eternity. Praying for you and your family. Love, June May Houge (Psalm 16:11, Oh, the joy and peace of His presence!)
My sympathy and prayers to Bobby's family. John remembers first cousin Bobby as a young person while visiting Grandmother Irene in Montgomery, Alabama. Bobby had been to a Yankee Ball game and saw Johnnie Mize hit a home run. We were pleased to see him at Aunt Norma's funeral. John and Betty
Bobby's Christian influence touched many lives in Chickasaw and throughout the area. Growing up in Chickasaw First Baptist Church was a blessing of a lifetime. Bobby, like his father, was blessed with the rare talent of sharing God's loving word in a dynamic way. I pray that God will give his family comfort and peace in the days to come.
I grew up in his dad's church, Chickasaw Baptist Church, from the late 40's until the mid 60's. I knew Bobby and his bother, father and his grandfather throughout this time. His whole family was an inspiration to the whole of Chickasaw. I remember the day his grandfather was run over by a policeman in Chickasaw. Rev. Bob Barber was leader of forgiveness. His Dad, Dr. Bob Barker informed me on the day I joined the church; Nov.11,1956, that he just left my grandfather's bedside in Saraland, as he was dying of cancer. I have always held the Barker's in my heart. They were all great leaders of God's flock. Rest in peace my great friend.
We are so sorry to hear of Reverend Barker's passing. His dad married us in 1962 at Toulminville Baptist Church. He had 3 weddings that night so it was hectic. There are great memories of that time of our life and of the Barker family. God grant you peace.
So Sorry about Bobby's passing. Knew him when I attended Chickasaw First Baptist Church when his daddy was our Pastor. The Barkers seemed like a family friend. Praying for the family.
