James Samuel Colbert, Jr.
Born on August 16, 1933 in Fresno, CA and passed on March 17, 2014 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS.
James Colbert, Jr. joined the military at a very young age and served over 20 years in the United States Air Force. A formative military chef to Generals and Dignitaries, James served as a Drill Sergeant, serving during the Vietnam War.
James was an active member of the Citizens Advisory Council for the local police department.
Preceded in death by, son Jeffrey L. Colbert, sisters Faye Colbert, Claudette Colbert, brothers Howard Colbert, Andrew Colbert.
James leaves a loving wife, Woundlin Colbert, to preserve his memory along with three daughters; Yolanda Russell, Andrea Colbert, Alexis Tarbin, two sons, James S. Colbert III, Preston (Ramonda) McLaughlin and siblings Rodney (Emma) Colbert, and Annis Darden.
He was also blessed with a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nephews and Nieces.
