I watched him dance at the 60th HEHS Class Reunion this past September. He looked amazing and certainly not his age. He will be missed by all who knew him, a great man and leader!
Condolences to his family at this very difficult time!

So sorry to hear of my "Uncle" Danny's passing while we were in Florida, and not being able to attend his service.

I have so many fond childhood memories of seeing my "Uncle" Danny at family gatherings. What I will miss most are his VERY firm hugs and handshakes! I will also miss the cards he always sent us at Christmas with the pictures of him fishing at the lake, or proudly riding his new John Deere lawn tractor.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Brenda, Stephen, and their families.

So sad to hear of your father and grandfathers passing. My mother graduated HEHS class of 1957 so I have been seeing Coach Danny several months a year at their class luncheons. He was so friendly and revered by all, even me.
The best memory for me was the last time I saw him at the class reunion dinner dance this past fall. He mentioned to me in a conversation his favorite song and I borrowed Don Wallace's guitar took him to the side in the Guyan Country Club lobby. He went to get his friend and Player Johnny Frye to come and listen to his favorite song " Friends are Friends Forever if the Lords the Lord of them and a friend will not say never, no the welcome will not end, Though it's hard to let you go, in the Father's hands we know, that a lifetimes not to long to live as friends." Coach somehow when his last words I believe! I didn't know him well but I left him Much that day! I think that he said that they sing that song and his wife's funeral. So here's to you coach we will all see you again some sweet day soon. Our dear friend forever! Shelley Brown ( daughter of S. Malora Sammons Brown )
