Miss Plymale was my first grade teacher at Kenova Elementary. Starting school was quite traumatic for me. I had a severe case of separation anxiety for my mother. Miss Plymale, she was still a Miss back then I believe, ate lunch with me for a few days. Then she got a classmate to join her and I for lunch. After that I ate with only the classmate and was fine. She left my school after that school year I believe, and I did not see or hear about her again until I read of her passing. But I have never forgotten how kind she was to me. And age has allowed me to better appreciate her kindness. Thank you, Miss Plymale. My deepest condolences to her family.

I was honored to call Karen my friend. We attended the same church for many years. She taught several of my grandchildren. She always had a big smile and a kind word for everyone. She made a positive difference in many children. Rest in peace Karen.

I was fortunate enough to have Mrs. Knowles as my second grade teacher in the late 1980s. Everyone has that one teacher that made an impact or difference in their life, she was THE teacher for me. She saw my potential and pushed me never letting me fail. She called me pokey puppy lol. I carried her with me through the years and went back to see her at Buffalo a few times. I even took her graduation announcements for high school and college, knowing she was part of the reason I succeeded.
She will be greatly missed. Prayers for Kevin and Brian and their families.
