Although I knew that Bob was ill, news of his passing was shocking. I think this is because my memories are of a strong, solid, decent man. My most vivid memories center around our trip to Colorado, church stuff and the day the Silver Bridge collapsed and Lois came to the farm seeking comfort from loved ones as she feared that he may have been crossing it. We didn't have cell phones back in the dark ages. Jennifer and Jeff, my precious friends, your dad can relish his legacy. He was a father to remarkable people and that doesn't happen by accident. Our innocent childhood days grew complicated as we aged and Bob's circle of loved ones expanded. His heart opened to Elaine, Maria, Mark and Doris. I believe in guardian angels and know that those Bob loved have gained added Heavenly protection. His pain is gone and his celebration begins with his savior.
