Here's how I sum up Bobbie: When you are asked the question who is your role model or inspiration or favorite person...in my life and for what I have learned is important, I have always come up with the answer of course, my pastors , my parents and brother, but also, for real, I would actually answer Bobbie Oxar. I never really thought about why. I just loved her and loved how she made me feel.
Bobbie was probably the sweetest, kindest soul I knew. She always had a natural ability to make newcomers feel welcome and make old friends feel like family.
I remember when I hurt my back and could not move for 2 months. Bobbie was the only one that came to visit & bring me much needed food and friendship. This was at the time of her last days of driving. How special she made me feel. How unselfish to think of me when she was not well herself… but with her, I was not surprised…that was Bobbie…She loved to do that.
Each and every time I saw her she was smiling and she had a little joke to tell. She was patient, kind, calm, never boasting, never loud. It's as if you could look up the definition of Christian in the dictionary and Bobbi's face would be next to it, so you would not just know what the word Christian meant, but you would know what a Christian looked like…. because it was not just what Bobbi did, but it was how she sounded and looked too. It was her smile, her face, her walk and her talk. She truly walked the walk .
We love you always Bobbie and maybe one day... I could hope to be just be half the woman you were.
