I was so touched to read the story about Col. Charlie Brown and his heroic effort that he made to get his injured crew back to England at the risk of his crippled B17 being shot down by the German fighter. My uncle, Sgt.Jack Hyatt, was a B17 tail gunner, who with his fellow crew members, was shot down over Holland. He was captured by the Germans and was a prisoner at Stalig 17. He survived the death march and was liberated by U.S.Forces.
My thanks go out to all of those great men that gave their service to their country. To the family of Col. Charlie Brown, God bless you. He will not be forgotten.

What a wonderful story!! Thank God for placing such people as Charlie Brown in our midst!! I was trained in the RAF 10 years after the war by men of his calibre - men who helped to form my character and guide me forever! God bless his family!!

Our Nation, and the world, has lost a true American hero. He and his deeds will not be forgotten. May God bless his family at this time.

Wow! I just received this story via email and I am amazed to find it appears to be true. I am very grateful to the men of that generation for their selfless courage. My son is 20 now and I understand the average age of a B17 captain was 21! Wow again! If anyone is monitoring this Guest Book, how did they come by the picture of the 17 and the fighter?
Thanks to all of that great generation!

A different generation who did not ask what was in it for them, but instead asked, what else can I do? The foundation of our greatness as a nation and a people.
