Aunt Betty was always a joy to visit with, I will always miss her.Condolences to Jeff ,David, Norman, Doralee.

I met Betty in 1957, first as a substitute teacher, then as a family friend. I baby sat all of her children, and as time passed we became closer, as she was to become the closest friend of my late Mother. I consider it a privilege to have been a small part of Betty's life. Whenever I came to America (having lived 45 years in Italy and England) I always visited with Betty and Dora Lee, and whenever possible, David and Norman. Jeff lives so far from his Mother that I have not seen him since his son Barry was a toddler. To have had such a wonderful woman for a Mother, all of her children are so very fortunate...it is always terrible to lose a loved one, but losing ones Mother is always the hardest thing to bear, especially beautiful Betty. Loving thoughts to you all,

Betty was my daughter's teacher at Nautilus and A good friend. I miss her. Myrna Bramson. I believe it was David's band that played for my son's Bar Mitzvah on the yacht across from the Fountainbleu.(Ben Nemser) 1970

Hi to the family. I have known David and Norman since our pre-school days, going back over 50 some years ago. "Mrs. Balter" was also my English Teacher at Nautilus, and indeed, she was an inspired and highly effective teacher. Till this day, I remember many aspects of proper speaking and writing from her ways of getting us to remember these things.

Every single day, for decades, she did things to help students- for thousands of students. Thank you Mrs. Balter- for everything you did for so many people.

Much love to all of the Chesky siblings.
