I just found out about Fadela's passing. I am shocked and saddened. I knew Fadela while working with the Peace Corps from 1974 to 1981. I'll always cherish the wonderful moments we shared teaching, talking and partying with our Moroccan and American friends in Rabat, Marrakech, and Michigan. May she rest in Peace. She'll be greatly missed.

Here is a photo of my aunt and us meeting worldwide known actor, Mark Wahlberg. This was a year before she was diagnosed with cancer. I miss her so much and I want to thank everyone for all the condolences.

My Brother Jim, Like the others, I only have good thoughts of Fadela gentle, strong, kind, enduring, funny, deep, determined. I'm sure she was the primary translator of Zir-la-fok but didn't live a life of diru-bi-swiya. She did bezzzzzzzzzzaf for many.
God bless and keep you Bro.
Contrary to Jim Morrison, "This is NOT the end."
Grace and peace.

When I think of her, I remember all the great stories she shared and how much I wanted to be like her. I still remember tasting the vegetables thinking they were just steamed and lightly seasoned. And they were- with Chili! Always a surprise!

Words can not express my feelings at this moment. She was a wonderful humanbeing, teacher and friend. There are so many Fadela stories I tell when the topic gets to Morrocco and all of them still make me smile inside at what I tell and would never tell anyone who was not there. The world lost a great soul. If more people had her spirit, the world would be a better place.

Jim and the Senhaji Family,
Please accept our sympathies. We feel honored to have known Fadela. We think back often of our time in Morocco and that time was always entwined with the things we learned from Fadela. She was a beautiful person in many ways. We are all better people for having known and cared for her. She will always be remembered.

Fadela inspired the best from a variety of Arabic language adoptees through her quick smile and joyful laughter. She loved telling and listening to stories along our Peace Corps Morocco journey. Fadela and Jim's love and care for each other grew and inspired all of us. Jennifer and I pray for them and for their families.

A smart, generous, high-spirited, sweet person, an enthusiastic and talented teacher, loved by all who she met. Condolences to all.
