DAVIS, Philip A., Col. USMC (Ret). Born in Chicago 8/7/22, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Phil is survived by his loving wife Evelyn and dear children and their families. Daughters: Kathleen, her daughter Georgia and grandson Gideon; Rosemary, her daughter Maureen and son James; Carla, her husband Darin and sons Evan and Colin. Sons: John, Thomas, Edward; Philip, his wife Cynthia and son Philip K.; Joseph, his wife Deirdre and son Michael; Arturo, his wife Jessica, daughter Isabella and son Adrian; and Paul, his wife Annie and son Luis. Phil attended Georgetown University School of Foreign Service (BS) and The Catholic University of America (MA). He was in the U. S. Marine Corps for 30 years with service in WW II, Korea, Vietnam and various posts and stations. Subsequently, he was employed by the State of Florida, the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, and the Aviation Department, Miami-Dade County. After retiring he volunteered in the Guardian Ad Litem Program and with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 at Stanfill Funeral Home, 10545 S. Dixie Highway. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the Church of the Epiphany, 8235 Red Road, Miami, FL. at 9:30 am on Thursday, March 28. Burial will be at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL. In place of flowers, please send a donation to The Jesuits, 4511 W. Pine Blvd, St. Louis, MO.
