I was lucky enough to have had Michael as my English Professor in 1987. He was one of the most unique people I have ever met and I have had him in my thoughts many times throughout the years. Lots of lovely, funny memories.
'Browner' was my English professor some 22 years ago at MDCC and one of my most memorable professors... As a general rule, he didn't talk 'English' as much as he talked 'Religion' --may the Good Lord have mercy on you 'Browner'--- I enjoyed your class.
I was fortunate to have had both Professor Browner and Professor Harty-Hugues when I attended MDC. They were part of an exceptional group of professors. I used to always be mesmerized by this unusual sketch that hung in his office. He would say, "You like it, my ex did that, it's suppose to be a portrait of me." Little did I know I would have her as my professor soon after. He leaves fond memories.
My condolences to the family.
Michael was a remarkable person, with a great sense of humor. I remember running with him, and the way he would push himself, breathing very hard, I thought he was ready to have a heart attack. But, he was made of stronger stuff.
I wish I had stayed in closer touch with him over the years. I remember when he was assigned to speak to runners on the topic of stretching. I believe the entirety of his speech was "I do not stretch".
It is not a stretch to say that Michael Browner will be missed.
Carol, Michelle & Stephanie, I will always remember your family and your house in South Miami. I learned so much from you all, maybe especially from your dad. (A1 steak sauce & eggs... who knew?) I still think about those times we shared. He must have been tremendously proud of all of you! My thoughts are with you. Carol Milhan Arnosky, Midland, MI
As always, I was way behind when it came to keeping up with "Browner" and have just learned of his passing. Each time we bumped into each other in recent years, I was quick to thank him for holding back (just one time)and letting me think I had bested him. He will be missed. Geoff McClain
Will always remember our great runs together.
My deepest sympathy to Carol, Michele, Stephanie and family. Your dad was a very special individual and I shall miss him very much. Zina
My sincere condolences to the family. Never feel that you are alone, for God hears your cry for help and he will sustain you. (2 corthians 1:4).
Dammit, you people have to stop dying off! Soon I won't know anyone in Miami. I'll miss you.
