Father's Day Poem for our dear father. Wish you could be here to share this day with us.
Poem:
You never said I'm leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knew why
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried
If Love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died
In Life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
Happy Father's Day to all Dad's in Heaven. especially mine.

Today marks 3 years that our family lost our dear father and grandfather
I found the following that I thought describes so well how we all feel. Dad, this is for you with all our love always:
What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived and that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. We love and miss you.

Happy Father's Day dad. Though you may not be here with us to celebrate all you always did for us and how much you meant to us all, you are never forgotten especially on a day such as today. We miss you and will always love you!

Today, 12-23-11 would have been my father's 79th birthday. His birthday was always a special part of our Christmas tradition every year with his birthday cake being a special part of the celebration. We will never forget and will always celebrate his special day in our hearts where we will always celebrate his life and the love he had for us all. We love you dad and wish you could be here to share your birthday and Christmas with us.

Today, Father's Day, we spent some time with my dear father at a special Father's Day mass at the cemetery. The deacon confirmed that we should all be celebrating the memories that he helped create with us and that we should not be sad but rather happy that we were able to share the time we had together. Though it is sad not to have him with us in person, we should never forget everything he did to enrich our lives and all of the things he taught us about life and mostly family devotion. We will never forget his humor and passion for living but mostly his love of family and wanting only the best for all of us. He helped us all and never thought twice about what he got in return. Therefore, even though we may sometimes shed a few tears of sadness, we should also shed a few happy tears in his memory. That's what he would have wanted and was famous for himself, having shed many a tear both sad and happy ones for the smallest of things that touched his emotions. We love you dad and wish you a Happy Father's Day with all our love.

It's unimagineable that today marks a year that our family lost our dear father and grandfather. We wish we could have had him with us longer and miss him every day. There are so many things that remind us of him especially in his home where he and our mother enjoyed so much of their beautiful life together. There they embraced so many memories made with their children, grandchildren, other family members and all those who were fortunate enough to have known the happiness that was shared there. Though life will never be the same without him, we can only be thankful that the time that we did have with him was full of love and will be cherished forever by us all.

I was lucky enough to have had the opportunity to share many precious memories with my loving, wonderful, humorous Grandfather; like his birthday which is today. I still think about him and remember the person that he was and how he always enjoyed spending his birthday and Christmas with everyone. Each year, whenever Nana would come out with his favorite Oreo ice cream cake, the glow on his face was priceless. You could tell that he was not only happy to have received so many gifts, but just the mere fact that the presence of his family was with him. Today, my husband Jay and I celebrate his life as we will continue to celebrate it on Christmas and always.

Today would have been my dear father's 78th birthday. We all would have loved to have been able to celebrate it with him. Today, however, we celebrated his life and the many memories he helped make that have now been left etched in our hearts forever. We began the day by attending a memorial mass in his honor and then visited the cemetery where we all wished him a Happy Birthday. His birthday was always a special time which we would celebrate at Christmas with my mother making a special birthday-Christmas cake and the celebration was traditionally a big part of our Christmas. We will always cherish his memory especially during this special time of year and will miss having him with us.

Today, Father's Day, we spent some time with my dear father at a special Father's Day mass at the cemetery. We could not celebrate this day with him as we always have in the past and could not tell him how we feel face to face but we tried to celebrate his life and memory together as a family as he would have if he was with us. We know that he watched over us with a smile and maybe even a tear knowing that we gathered together in his honor and love him with all our hearts.

This was on my father's guestbook prayer card when they first added it but then it was removed. I'm glad I copied it because it was like he was leaving his own message to all of us. I decided to add it to this guestbook as a reminder to everyone that he would have wanted us to remember all of the times we shared with him and all of the memories we now have to remember him by.
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways of happy times and laughing times and bright sun shining days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

Giovanni was and still is a one of a kind wonderful man. I married into this beautiful family, but even before marriage, when we were just living together as boyfriend and girlfriend, John was a one of a kind and still is a one of a kind family man. He will always remain special and We know that he will watch over his Wife Tina from heaven and continue to love her. We love you Nonno and you will always live in our hearts and minds forever.

Clara,
I never had the pleasure of meeting your father; but could tell by the way you spoke about him he was a loving family man. Regretfully I know the loss of a father and no words can change the way you feel now and for some time to come, but i hope your memories of him bring you comfort. God Bless you and your family.

We are so sorry for your loss. My father-in-law (deceased) was also from San Pio. Because of the same birth place we feel an affinity.
Your family and Mr. Sirolli are in our prayers.
