Paul and Lee,
I just learned of Jane's death and am so saddened. What a wonderful woman she was. Dynamic, ahead of her time, loving and sweet. She was so proud of you both and always kept us up on your lives. We enjoyed that. I remember as a child going to the Cub Scout meetings at your house. Ed was in Jane's troop with Lee. I complained that the Brownies were no fun and I wanted to be in Jane's troop also. That was way before women's lib! Mom and Jane were such dear friends: in fact, Charlotte considered your mother to be her best friend. Sometimes I would accompany Mom to visit. It was a blast. When we got together with Nita we had a great time. Jane and I had a very special relationship. She always let me know how much she loved me. I last visited with her three years ago. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I will never forget your mom.

Sincerely, Anna Brumby (Smith)
By the way, the obituary was wonderful - you truly captured Jane.

So sorry to read about Jane McCreary's passing. If it hadn't been for her, I wouldn't be in this world as she and Paul McCreary, Sr. introduced my Mom and Dad back in old Miami of the 30's. My Dad grew up with Paul Sr. and they had a group named "The Thirsty Five" with 3 other fellows, who are also now gone. Bob and Harriett Brookes lived many years in Peru and France and stayed in touch with the McCrearys through all those years. I lost my Mom back in July of 2008 at age 90, so I know what all of you are now going through...my parents always spoke with such great affection about their old friends Jane and Paul McCreary, and I met both of them when I was much younger. My sympathies to all in your family and may God keep all of our dearly departed loved ones' souls in peace.

Paul D. and Leigh, I loved your mom all my life. Surely, a bright light has left our world. Janie will always be in my heart, along with Paul and Pauline. Much love, Sally Altmayer Enright
