I am sadden to hear the news of my first cousin's passing. Growing up I had a great admiration for JoJo. He was always kind, fun and a good musician. I would go and listen to him play in his band at the Hialeah Municpal Center on Friday nites. He taught me how to dance and was quite the good lookig cuz to show off to my friends.
We didn't see much of each other through the later years and recently had reconnected through Facebook.
I will always have his sparkling blue eyed smiling face in my memory. He was a gentle soul.
May he rest in peace.

My condolences go out to all of his family. Loving thoughts.
Madeleine (3rd in line of the cousins)

Joe and I were next door neighbors and friends from the early part of 1974 until mid-1976. We had bought new townhouses on W. 2nd Court in the Palm Springs Villas development in Hialeah.

He was an excellent neighbor and a good buddy to talk with in the late afternoon and on weekends when we were both off from work. His son Joseph Jr. was born while we lived there and he was really happy to have a baby son. We stayed in touch for many years via Christmas cards but fell out of contact quite a while ago.

Rest in Peace Big Joe, thank you for being a good next door neighbor and buddy 38 years ago! My condolences to all of his family and loved ones.

I mourn Joe's passing.

Although I didn't know him well in later years, Joe was always patient, gentle and kind when we were younger. Ever thoughtful, he was always willing to give me, his much younger cousin, some time at Hurtak family gatherings. And, as one of the "older" of the "Hurtak Cousins", he was someone whose achievements I found inspiring.

Dale and I send our condolences to Danny and to all of Joe's family. We know he will be greatly missed.

We didn't know Joseph but if he was like his brother Dan, he was a great friend, a good man with a big heart who loved life. So sorry for your loss. May you find strength together as a family in this time.
