Missing you Jim, it seems so long ago now that you left. You were important to so many and you would be proud of your adult children today. Emma is in high school now and playing volleyball and doing great at both. Dannean is beautiful and strong. Michael's home in Georgia is exceptional and Shannon is a proud mother and is as beautiful today as she was when you left. Hope you're soaring with the Eagles now. Sending love at Christmas 2015.

It was once said that as we give ouselves away each moment we live on in the lives who continue giving.
It was also once said the process of bringing food from a farm to the table is involved, worth respecting, and not to be wasteful. Also said, the more things we have the less time we have...Our hearts go out to your families & communities, blessed by Jim's life, forever loved and missed.

Anne, I donb't know how to thank you, except to say, "Thank you, Anne," for keeping this guest book alive and well.
We have never met; however, I know how close Jim was to you, and how much this means to so many of your family, and believe me, Anne, to many more of us to whom Jim was ineffably special. THANK YOU, ANNE.....

Jim, you have been gone from us all for more than two years now, and we all will always remember you with great respect and love, because you were, and still are, important in our lives, and in the world you occupied and gave so much to. Those of us who were simply friends of yours and respected you as a wonderful and gracious man and friend, care no less for your friendship than do any attorneys who have known you for years in your law practice who respect you still for your intelligence and integrity in the law you yourself practiced.
Thank you, Jim, for having been in our lives, and for having made us all better for having known you, my dear friend.

Jim, I remember that Jerry Wetherington told me one evening that you had said to him, "when I die, people will say...'Hey it's too bad about Jim Kenny... hey, how do you think the Heat will do tonight"Well, Jim, the following MANY letters and reflections of people's feeling about our loss of you are here expressed, and it is my hope that you will and can see and know them, my dear friend!
My love, and those of all of us, Jim,
Janet

Jim, I caused this guest book to remain online for another year, because I know how many people in this community respected and loved you, and how modest you were about your success and all that you accomplished in the legal community.
You were, and still are, to those of us who loved, respected, and even, yes, revered your abilities, still are alive and well in the world of law.
We respect and admire you, and all that you accomplished in your career, and all that you have done to help your friends and family throughout your life, Jim.
PLase know that you are remembered and loved for you humor, your humility, your truthfulness, and your intense interest in what you accomplished in your lifetime and, in the overall, what you did for the field and profession of the law.
Thank you, Jim, from all of us who still, and always will, love you.

Dear Aunt Pat, Mike and Shannon, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. There are many fond memories of vacationing with your family as children. It has been less than a year since mom passed and I remember the pain involved with losing someone that means so much to us. Unfortunately we are left to continue to live without them, and live we must. May you find great comfort in your memories of Jim and in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Love, David Larimore

Dear Pat:
Jim's passing leaves us all measurably diminished - not only those who knew him, but also the larger community of those who may have never met him but who he affected nonetheless. In his direct relationships with friends and acquaintances, and in the manner in which the firm conducted itself, Jim's personal integrity and professionalism set the standard. We are all so fortunate to have had him in our lives.
My heartfelt condolences to you, Michael and Shannon.

Mayra and I were very saddened to learn of Jim's passing. We had the privilege of meeting Jim in the 1980s when Pat was my boss at the U.S. Attorney's office. We enjoyed dinners with together and I was fortunate to join Kenny Nachwalter after leaving the government.
Jim was a giant presence at the firm and in the legal community. There were few lawyers in the country that combined his precise, analytic mind and near photographic memory that Jim brought to the table. I was able to work with him extensively early in my careeer at the firm and learned much. His pursuit of excellence most certainly helped me to refine my skills as a lawyer.
Jim was also instrumental in establishing the wonderful atmosphere that existed at the firm by herding all of us then-associates for lunch every day to discuss what we cases we were working on, current events and sports.
Underneath that brilliant mind was a good heart. I am very honored to have worked with Jim (and Pat) and he will truly be missed.

I have had the honor and privilege of working with Jim for over 30 years. He could be very intimidating to a lot of people, but we always got along very well. He had a great sense of humor and was a gentleman in every respect. He will be greatly missed, but I do have a lot of great memories of him throughout the years. Our deepest condolences go out to Pat, Michael, Shannon and their families.

We tend to freeze people in our memories, particularly when they were there for an important season of our lives. Jim was there when I was cutting my teeth as a young lawyer. A man of few words, I can still hear him making that "huh" sound when he didn't quite understand where you were coming from or where you were going with your theory or idea. He was disarming at first approach, tender when you finally got in, and fiercely smart. He saw easily through nonsense and didn't suffer fools lightly. His passion for health and fitness was the topic of many lunches as he deconstructed the relative nutritional value of each person's dietary selections. We all marvled at his ability to eat like an olympian when burgers and fries comforted us in our midday stress. I'm grateful to have walked in the journey of the law with him for nearly a decade. We are so sorry for your loss Pat and family. Much love, Katherine Silverglate

Jim was my hero. I've been proud of him my whole life. Times when life seemed insurmountable, he was right there to do whatever he could to help. His unusual sense of humor was a treat. I don't feel like I've lost him because I haven't. I'll never forget him. Thanks to Pat, Shannon and Michael for a beautifully written obit.

Aunt Pat, Shannon,Michael and your families...
Uncle Jim will most certainly be held on such a tall pedestal by so many different people.. for so many different reasons of admiration. His adoration for you, Aunt Pat, and my memories of his undeniable pride and immense love for my cousins, Shannon and Michael, is the fondness I will always hold for Uncle Jim. I know he is loved by his sisters, and that he visibly took so much joy in the life of Shannon and Michaels families. I know his professional legacy is enormous, and that he leaves many friends whom will miss him immensely. He is respected by so many...and that alone is a tribute to the extraordinary way he lived his life.
My love to each of you, Heather Keefer Saulsbury
