Thank you for being the faithful companion of millions of us growing up.

When I was 5, Pablo died, and you ever so gently taught all of us children, most for the first time, about sadness and death, and it is OK to cry.
When President Kennedy died in 1963 you taught us to put down our guns, and we were all sad, and it was OK to cry.
I think back to all of those early mornings waiting for the test pattern to go away; you are gone now, and I am sad, and cry.
But the wealth of memories you have left with us all, brings on smiles that grow and grow, as we share our hearts with your legacy of teaching and gentility.

So sad to hear. Rex Trailer and his show brought such joy to this little girl who pretended he was her daddy, visiting through Boomtown every weekend, when in reality she never knew when she would see her daddy. Rex filled a hole in my childhood.

Of my many wonderful childhood memories, none is as prominent as my flying with Rex in his helicopter to an event with Pablo. In his "Whirlybird", we flew up Rte. 93 and I remember so well the people looking up at us as the copter had a big glass "bubble" for a windshield.
Rex was larger than life and his devotion to children, his sense of truth, honesty and integrity all had an effect on us.
Thanks Rex for all you did.

My siblings and I have wonderful memories of being on the show in the early 70s. What a terrific, inspirational person. We will miss you Rex.
