I never met you,But followed every word that was ever printed about you in the Miami Herald.I was always so amazed at the things you accomplished,And wished I could have thanked you so many times for your service to our country.I was married to a Miami Springs marine, who was also wounded during his tour of duty in the Pacific,But he came out a lot better than you.He always talked about the war,and how many men were left behind, and couldn't figure out why he made it out alive. You were highly respected by many, and we are humbly thanking you for giving so much of yourself.Rest in peace, and in closing, please accept the biggest salute to a mighty big man.Thank you again for all that you gave.Remember, all gave some, but you gave all.
