More than a year has passed since losing our friend, Bob. How consoling to find such a beautiful tribute to him posted here and how grateful we are to Camie for the chance to be able to "light a candle" in his memory all these months later.
We were so saddened to hear of Bob's passing and felt a great loss after all the years he had been in our lives.
We came to know Bob through my dad. The two of them were kindred spirits and soon all of us were friends and calling on Bob to help us make a project come to life. He built us the most beautiful gazebo with details that would make any Victorian green with envy. I vividly remember he and my husband sitting in it after all the work was done, adding up all the receipts and shaking their heads at the grand total---I think Bob was the only one who was genuinely distressed---he was as careful with our money as he was with his own. We always found him to be fair and generous and we trusted him like no other. But more than that, he shared with us his talent for making everything more beautiful, and to us it was priceless.
I think of Bob quite often whenever I look around our house because me did so much for us. I asked him to build me a pergola once and he did, but afterwards would tell how he'd first had to find out what the heck a pergola was---I never believed him, of course, because he was such an accomplished craftsman---but he had the greatest sense of humor and always loved to laugh at himself.
We will continue to treasure these memories and so many others as we tend to the treasures he built for us, and will forever consider ourselves fortunate for having known such a dear man.
May he and his faithful friend, Fred, both rest in peace.

One year ago today we lost a great man, he is missed by all who knew him and especially by the love of his life his Camie. He was a private person but if you were his friend he would do anything for you and your family, Mrs. Scott was a great example of what a true friend he was to her, he watched over her and in her last years, Bob and Camie took care of her they had always promised they would never put her in a home and true to his word he never did. He had great plans and great dreams he was just taken to soon. I miss your humor and the way you could make me laugh with your messages through Camie, know that you are missed and rest in peace till we all meet again keep my daddy laughing.
RIP Bob and Watch over us all K-K

A year ago today we lost a friend and soon to be family member, I miss his laughter and humor, he was a very private person but to those who knew him he was the most kind hearted person, always thinking how he could help someone or what he could do for them to make life better he left behind a wonderful fiancé. We miss you Bob and know you are watching over all of us. Tell we meet again Kay

Though I only knew Bob for a brief amount of time when I had his home listed, I was impressed with his honesty and integrity as a human being. He was always very respectful to what Ms. Scott would have wanted for the house, and had a great fondness for her memory. He treated Fred like a king, and I'm sure they are spending many happy hours in Heaven. They were a great duo and a sorely missed!

Our Dear Camie,
Reading all the beautiful tributes to Bob has just showed us once again how much he was loved. He knew a lot of people, and you can see how he touched the lives of so many. He was a very private person to most but to the people who got to know him he was truly a friend for life, and those of us who really knew Bob knew how much he loved and cared for you, and what he wanted for you the love of his life, I am just so sorry that he was taken before he could do what he wanted, marry you and build that dream home with you. But he will always be with you and those of us whose lives he touched, he had such big dreams and plans so as he looks down from heaven I pray he will see some of the plans he had come true as he was a very kind and caring man, may you find peace knowing that someday you will be together and the love you share will always be a part of your life.
May you rest in peace Bob knowing Kara is completing some of your wishes
miss those fun phone calls and your jokes

My dad, Dr. Norm Currie, was one of Bob's retired friends. Bob was so kind to him and helped him in many ways. Our family will always be grateful for that. To Bob's family, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Mr. Johnson,

You were always so good to me and my Dad. You always brought a smile to my face every time I saw you, always there for me no matter what. I will miss you greatly. R.I.P Mr. Johnson

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob many years ago and he truly became a friend. Always ready to lend a hand and never saying no to any request. He was the handyman's handyman. I still think of picking up the phone to chat and realize that he is not with us any longer. My condolences to Camie and Kara. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

David and i got to meet Bob when he had his house listed for sale. I was so fortunate that I got to meet Bob and Fred and so enjoyed our conversations. He had a kind heart and such a tender heart especially when it came to Fred. At least they were together when this tragedy happened and they will both be forever in our hearts and prayers. We moved back to Fresno from Pacific Grove and kept in touch with Bob although somewhat sporadic, there was a friendship and a bond. When he did not return David's calls and consequently found out what happened to them, we were so shocked and devastated. Although our friendship was brief, we will miss our dear friend Bob and his little buddy Fred - may they rest in peace.
