SCHWARTZ, Merlin J., age 63 of Huntland, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at his residence. He was born on March 16, 1955, in Fairbank, Iowa to the late Reuben M. and Elma C. Miller Schwartz. Before his illness, Merlin worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening as well as fishing in his spare time. In addition to his parents, Merlin was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Goodwin and brothers, Jacob Schwartz and Daniel Schwartz. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Goodwin of Huntland; children, Tamara Schwartz of Tullahoma, D.J. (Samantha) Schwartz of Ohio, Nancy (Clint) Riddle of Huntland and Merlin Schwartz Jr. of Huntland; siblings, Henry Schwartz of Hillsboro, Reuben M. (Karen) Schwartz of Chattanooga, Lydia (Dennis) Frye of Rockvale, Cathy (Dave) Austin of Cleveland, Elizabeth Smith of Cleveland and Lorene Schwartz of Cleveland; and seven grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 10 a.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Miller and Rev. Marvin Miller officiating.
