Deepest condolences to the children and family of Fontella Bass. Fonnie and I went back such a long way -- back to Paris and St. Leu la Foret, back to potluck suppers and all-day Sunday rehearsals, back to crazy concerts with the Art Ensemble tearing it up! Thank you, beautiful spirit, for great music and your priceless love. Rest and rejoice in a life lived to the fullest.
