Mr. Ellis... such great memories of a tough, exacting educator whose mild, kindly manner inspired many an LHHS teenager. I count myself as so very fortunate and blessed to have had him as an instructor for all 3 of my years at LH. he taught me so much about chemistry and biology, but, more importantly, about the personal strength lying nearly dormant within me. He presented me with hard academic challenges, but always with confidence that I would meet, if not exceed, his expectations. May you rest easy, Mr. Ellis. You are a giant in my life to this day (LHHS '75)

Mr. Ellis set a strong example for being a truly caring teacher; even those of us who were not "his" students learned many lessons just from watching his kind and patient manner from the hallways of LHHS ('75). May God bless and comfort his family.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I loved Mr. Ellis. Kind, tough, funny, wise, twinkle in his eye, some mischief, high standards. I can still picture his amazing chalk board notes. Mrs. Ellis was also my teacher back in third grade. Two great teachers in one family. I wish you comfort and strength.

I remember Mr. Ellis as a kind and considerate teacher who quietly did his job and somehow inspired a lot of mouthy teenagers!
