Everywhere Eileen Kendrick found herself in life - she worked to make a loving home. She learned that approach to life in the loving home of Franz Joseph Stenner's and Nelly Black (AKA Ellen Jane Robinson), for on May 7, 1923, she was born into that blessed home as the fourth child. Frankie, Mabel, Rita were joined by Eileen in the Arlington St. rowhouses, near the Camden railyards on the Delaware River.
Her dad worked as an engineer in the railyards and her mom made a loving home. Eileen loved the family, friends, neighbors, community, and pets.
At 18, she joined the Marines in WW II to do what she could for her country.
In 1956 she married a dashing fighter pilot, Tom Kendrick, of Florala, AL.
And Eileen dedicated the rest of her life to her family, always working to build a loving home. Though the home moved across the United States, even across continents, she kept at it. Three sons would be born to Tom and Eileen; Thomas, Stephen, and Roger Kendrick, all of whom came to love Jesus, love God, as she did.
Eileen worked at many jobs over the years to build her loving home, Campbell Soup's, the military, Sears, various colleges, and eventually retired as an executive secretary at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. She remained active serving others in her church and community until Alzheimer's disease took her away.
We three sons and our families are honored to see our mom go happily home to our Lord Jesus and our Father in Heaven; we've no doubt she's heard the "well done good and faithful servant" from them. For she loved mightily, she loved with grace, she loved with forgiveness and now she is at her peace. Eileen has gone home.
Three sons and wives, and eight grandchildren survive her, along with a large extended family and friends.

While words fail to capture the pain of losing a loved one, we look forward to the time when words will fail to capture the joy of having our heavenly Father return your dear one to you.
