It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of a dear friend, director and a true ambassador of Battleship Cove. Capt Hudners spirit will always be with us and the thousands of visitors we see each year. Our entire organization wishes to express our deepest sympathy to the family during this difficult time.

He was my CO in VT-24 in 1965. What a great Man. Always showed respect for everyone. God bless him and his Family. Here is a photo of Commander Hudner and myself when I made 2nd class Petty Officer. It is on my office wall. Thought you might like to see it.

As a boy growing up in Fall River, Mr. Hudner was a man we looked up to and admired. He represented courage in the face of adversity and someone who put his life on the line for his fellow Americans. He and those like him truly made America great. Old soldiers never die...
