Dear "Johnny Chris" and Joanne,
I am so sorry to read about Aunt Millie.
I always wondered if Millie was her real name - now I know it was Merilda.
She was a wonderful grand lady. As you know, my Mom Vivian thought the world of her and your Dad.
I enjoyed the times I visited you at your home near the Fall River Country Club.
Im sorry I lost touch with all of you after your folks moved to Florida, but mobility is the way of the world in the USA.
That is a wonderful photo you have displayed of her and her pies. Im sure she brought a "slice of heaven" to everyone she interacted with.
May God comfort you and your families in this time of sorrow.
Oh - If you'd like to catch up on news, Im at 508673 4356.
Love, Cousin Norm

In everyone's life I would hope for three things, love, good health and friendship. In my entire life I have never been blessed
with the kind of friendship and love that Millie willingly gave to me, and all her many many friends and acquaintances. In Bible scripture the one verse that sticks out is "take care to entertain strangers for they might be angels unawares." Millie lived by that scripture, it seemed to me it was a joy for her to give, embrace, laugh, cry, and foremost pray for all who she befriended in some way. She would say. "I'm going to say a novella," her special link with something much greater than ourselves. Yet strangely, she never realized she was that angel unawares. I would say, "Oh Millie, you are my angel, and she'd indignantly say, "Oh, I don't think so!" I have so many many wonderful living memories of my sweet friend, they all pulsate and push to come to the surface, revealing to you who Millie will always be in my memory. She loved the animals, always telling me of Joanne's kitties and asking about 'her' precious Jazmyn whom I brought to Punta Gorda when we would visit her. She would go out of her way to buy Christmas gifts for all my little critters, shopping for just the right toy and treat.
Millie always enjoyed reliving her younger years spent with her beloved husband John and her children. She brought me down that road many times, I was so happy to be there with her as she spoke of her younger years. Oh, I'm going to miss that most wonderful human being whom I was so honored to know. I am envious of all the moments other's have had with her while in Chattanooga, but glad at the same time that she had such dear friends. Why wouldn't she, she was their angel as well. I shall always keep your memory alive Millie, to me you are not just a brush stroke on my life's pallet, you are all the colors of love, joy and friendship that helped me through many difficult times. Here's to you Millie and all that you are, forever.
