ROCK HILL - Mr. William “Bill” G. Scott Jr., 67, of 1870 Timberlake Drive, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 16, 2013, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Burial for Mr. Scott will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Rose Hill Cemetery in York, S.C. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rogers Memorial ARP Church, 1756 Eden Terrace, Rock Hill, S.C., with Dr. Bill Fleming officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
A native of York, S.C., Bill was the son of the late William Glenn Scott Sr. and the late Mary Jane Jenkins Scott. He graduated from York High School in 1963. He attended Erskine College and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy. After many years of well-respected service as a pharmacist, he retired from Winn Dixie. He was a member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge #416 in Newport, S.C.
Bill was a loving husband and father. Bill is survived by his wife, Cynthia Bigger Scott; his son, William G. “Glenn” Scott III; his sister, Jane Sherer of York; his mother-in-law, Grace Bigger of Rock Hill; his sister-in-law, Sandra Bigger Gordon of Fort Mill; nieces, Leigh Sherer Boyd, Beth Sherer Durham and Lisa Deaver Ash; his nephew, Charles “Chuck” S. Deaver; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Rogers Memorial ARP Church, 1756 Eden Terrace, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
