Prof Chris O'Brien

I have read Chris O'Brien's book, an amazing man, an amazing biography. Professor Chris O'Brien captivated everyone when he was on the television series R.P.A., his compassion was overwhelming, his expertise was incredible, his humour lovable. I saw him at the R.P.A. Medical Centre just before his passing with his lovely wife, truly sad to see him so ill, but his courage and dignity still remained. May the beam from his "Chris O'Brien's Lifehouse" shine forever......

I've been a fan of Hospital Sydney for a while and only recently found out that Prof O'Brien had a brain tumor. I had to check, and was really sad to find that this great ,kind man had died from his tumor after saving and helping so many people. My wife and I are very sad. I know this is years late but in the UK we are a few years behind . Sincere belated condolences to his family, a great loss to Australia in general and the world of medicine in particular.

A true inspiration to us all. Although I had never had the opportunity to have met Prof. O'Brien, as a nurse I am truely inspired by you as a person and also as a highly respected surgeon. You were a true leader with vision wo had the ability to respect everyone as equal, thus inspiring trus in both fellow colleagues, vulnrable patients, there significnt others and the community as whole. i sat and watched hospital sydney last night as i aways do from my home in dublin ireland and on a few occasions ive said to myself i would love to write to those doctors but i dont think my letter would ever get to them or maybe they would be to busy to read it, so i decided to try email the hospital and tellthe two doctors in particular i think they are amazing peopel well ive just got on to hospial sydney web site and am shocked to see dr chris o bien has passed away ,he was one of the doctors i admire so much and the other was the doctor who looked after safari, i will never forget the way that doctor chris spoke to his patiences it was with real concern and understanding and care thats when you know the difference between a great doctor and just a doctor because a great doctor cares deeply about his paitences which i saw from dr chris on hos sydney on tv , may god bless your wife and children and family you were sent to this earth to do a job and my goodness you did yours well r. i p dr chris ,when i think of you i will say a littel prayer for you and your family xxxxxx

Professor O'Brien, Chris... You are very much missed and have left a huge hole in this world! I just finished reading your book and all I can say is Heaven must have needed you more darling angel! My deepest sympathy to Gail, Julliette and James. I would also like to light a candle for Adam! So very sad and too short a life! I think he must have missed his Dad too much!
