Donald Ditz Obituary

Donald W. Ditz, of Sarasota, died peacefully on May 7, 2014, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on April 15, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan, and was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary and his older brother Bill.
He is survived by his younger brother Jon and wife Joyce; his three children, Jeffrey, Kimberly (and husband David Willis), and Michael; and six grandchildren, Chelsea, Justin, Caelyn, and Joel Ditz, and Sarah and Ben Willis.
Don served in the Navy during WWII. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan and worked for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, where he was on the design team for the 1964 Ford Mustang. After retiring, Don and Mary moved to Sarasota, where they enjoyed friends old and new. Don's interest in design and drawing remained with him throughout his life.
There will be a casual gathering in Don's honor at the home of Joyce and Gary Nogard, 7368 Palomino Lane, from 2:00-4:30 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2014. All of Don's friends are invited to attend.
