Pam. I remember you and your family while in Denver. So sorry for your loss. I trust you are well

Dear Rose and Pam : I am so sorry for your loss. I remember the night that I was at your house when your dear husband led me to Christ It was the most important decision that I have ever made in my life. It has been 40 years since that night in your home and I still am following JESUS. Rose as I am sitting here typing this little note I am very sad and very happy , I am happy that he is with his LORD & SAVIOR now. My heart and my prayers go out to both you Rose and Pam for I know how much you will miss him.

It was a privilege to know Dr. McQuay, and to have had an opportunity to hear him preach at a beautiful little church in the woods near his home. One of my happiest memories was spending Thanksgiving with him and his family, and enjoying a houseful of friends and great food and lots of laughter. He was the calm rudder in a sea of women running around looking for their lipstick, the proper table settings, and the right words to say at the proper time. Much like the good father in Pride and Prejudice, Dr. McQuay was truly an instrument of God's peace. My deepest sympathy and most fervent prayers are for Pam and Rose who will miss him the most.

Dear Rose and Pam,

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.
Psalm 116:15
Dr. McQuay was the reason we came to visit Crooked Run Baptist Church and and the reason we stayed. From my time at CIU in the 1980s, I knew Dr. McQuay would be faithful to preach the truth of Gospel. He did and with such compassion.
I still remember one sermon he preached on letting God handle your fears that touched my life just when I needed it.
When we moved to SC with our young family, you all were so welcoming. Getting an invitation for a Sunday afternoon with Dr. McQuay and "Miss Rose" was such a treat for our children. They were blessed to spend time with you. Especially Benjamin--do you remember when he was about 5, he wanted to marry "Miss Rose" when he grew up? Now he is all grown up and was married just a few weeks ago. Thank you for the spiritual encouragement you two were to our family.

In His love and with prayers for your comfort,

Mary Ann and Charles McElmurray
(Sarah, Ben, Anna, Mary, Ruth)
