Steacie, Corinne
Sept. 22, 1925 - Oct. 6, 2018
Corinne (Kuykendall) Steacie, 93, of Venice, FL formerly of Framingham, MA passed away Saturday Oct. 6th with her family at her side. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Schmidt) Kuykendall. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Leslie Steacie who died in 2004. Corinne proudly worked as a registered nurse throughout her life, graduating from Newton Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing. She began her nursing career with the US Cadet Nurse Corp and would later work at Framingham Union Hospital as well as working as a private duty nurse in the Framingham area. Corinne had a gift for caring for the elderly and in 1963 purchased Countryside Nursing Home with her husband where they worked as a team. She will be fondly remembered by her family for her impeccable manners, handwritten birthday cards with crisp new dollar bills, trips to Nokomis Beach to search for shark's teeth, and for loving the Red Sox, especially spring training games in Ft. Meyers with the "Utes."
Mrs. Steacie is survived by her children: Marilyn Matarese and her husband John of Ashland, MA; John Steacie of Southboro, MA; and Douglas Steacie of Ogden, Utah; grandchildren: Antonio, John, Courtney, Patrick, Brandon, Holly, Travis, and Robert, and 8 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Robert (Bo).
A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 13th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.
