As a youngster I looked in awe to Herb and the memories I have of him are precious.

God Bless Herb and his family.

Having been born and raised in the greater Cleveland area, there are a few voices that evoke my childhood and engender a great deal of happiness. Ken Coleman and Jimmy Dudley are two that spring to mind. But it was Herb Score who was and will always be the voice of the Cleveland Indians for me. I can remember summer evenings listening to the Tribe on a car radio and there was Herb's voice relating the action on the field or some story from his career. Score's story was one of the first that I can remember my Dad telling me about the Indians. He will be sorely missed and he will be in my thoughts as long as I watch or listen to Cleveland Indians baseball.

Herb Score is a part of my best childhood memories. Listening to games with my mom ... the best times of my life. My condolences to his family and friends, but know that he will live forever in the hearts of millions of Clevelanders.

I never met Herb in person, but he was a friend to me just like many listeners over the years. I started following the Indians in 1964. Herb knew more about baseball than anyone who has been in that booth, then and now. He rooted with all of us but NEVER whined. I only wish the Tribe had won it all just once for Herb.

Deepest sympathies to Nancy and the family.

This is a tremendous loss for the Score family, the city of Cleveland and fans of baseball everywhere. G*d will certainly watch over Mr. Score. All my best.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Herb Score. Herb Score was my idol from the time he came to the Indians organization to the present. My sincere condolences to his family on their loss.
