Nell Rooke Obituary

ROOKE, NELL LOUISE; Chelsea; age 83; died Thursday, April 25, 2013 in Chelsea. She was born November 26, 1929 in Detroit, the daughter of Hubbard Hoyt and Virginia (Bennett) Moore. She resided in Chelsea since November of 1952. Nell was a member of Chelsea First United Methodist Church, where she had also served as church secretary for many years. She was also a secretary at Webster United Church of Christ. Nell was a beloved mother and grandmother. She enjoyed life, independence, reading, and group Bible studies with friends. She married William Nelson Rooke in Detroit on June 25, 1949, and he preceded her in death on October 8, 1991. Survivors include a son, James (Rosse Marie) of Florida; one daughter, Debby Cicchella of Kansas; two grandsons, Bryan and Ethan Rooke. She was preceded in death by two sons, Glen in 2001, and David in 2002. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013, at noon, at the First United Methodist Church, 128 Park Street, Chelsea. A private Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.

I am so sorry to hear of Nell's death. She and my mother were good friends at the Methodist Church and participated in the Deborah Circle for years. My sincere sympathy to the family.
