Dolores E. Morgan April 13, 1935 - April 14, 2015 Dolores E. Morgan, a resident of Adelanto and Victorville for over seven decades, died in Victorville, Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the age of 80. Dolores was a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother and step-grandmother. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. It was not unexpected as she had been unwell for the past year, and the effects of heart disease had taken its toll. On Monday, April 13th, Dolores was able to celebrate her 80th birthday surrounded by some of her children, some grandchildren and friends. Born April 13, 1935 to Petra and Santos Mora and raised in San Bernardino, Dolores was one of eight siblings, three of which predeceased her: Mary Cadena, Prudence Avina, and Lupe Huerta. She is survived by two brothers, Manuel Mora and his wife Mary Lou and family of Santa Ana and Richard Mora and his family of San Bernardino, and sister, Josephine and her husband Raymond Ramos and family of Santa Barbara. In 1952, Dolores married her husband Alfred W. Morgan, who was employed for 35 years as a civil service employee at George Air Force Base. Dolores and Alfred raised their children in Adelanto. Dolores and Alfred established the Donna Morgan Memorial Scholarship fund for Adelanto students after the death of their daughter Donna in 2000. Dolores was widowed in 2003 after 50 years of marriage to Alfred. Her special companion, retired USMC Franklin Fox, predeceased her in 2009. Dolores is survived by two sons, Arthur Morgan and his wife, Maria, and Russell Morgan, her daughters, Rita Dickson, Martha Morgan and Priscilla Morgan and their significant others. She will be missed by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren and great-step-grand- children as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dolores leaves behind her close neighbors, Valentin and Araceli Huerta, their children, especially Nadia and extended family who all adopted her as their "Nana". The Huerta family opened their home to provide personal care for her after her second heart attack in the last few months before hospice care was required and provided by the excellent staff at Village Home Care in Victorville. The family would like to fulfill Mrs. Morgan's wish that the memory of their late daughter, Donna, a Resource Specialist teacher for 20 years at Adelanto School District be remembered. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Donna Morgan Memorial Scholarship Fund, that has been established to accept donations, so that she may continue to help and support those children she taught and cared for so deeply. Please join us as we celebrate her life as we give Dolores up to the Lord. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Victor Valley Mortuary, 15609 Eleventh St. in Victorville, with a rosary at 7:00 pm. A mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday at Christ the Good Shepherd Church in Adelanto. Interment will be at Desert View Memorial Park in Victorville.

I didn't know Dolores except through her daughter, Martha. She must have been a loving and wonderful woman to have raised such a warm and caring daughter. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones who will miss her.
