I quickly became familiar with the "Go See Cal" commercials when I moved to southern California in 1985. Cal seemed like a friend to all, a genuine humanitarian, not just a car dealer. I loved seeing who his dog Spot would be in each commercial, and how nervous Cal appeared, yet he was able to pull off a memorable ad despite being juxtaposed to a critter who could potentially end his life then and there. He left a legacy of bringing smiles to all who remember him, and a catchy tune that no one can get out of his head.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

What a great person he had to have been. I will always remember his lively commercials from my time in Riverside County (March AFB CA) 1968-1972. Sincere condolences to the Worthington family and may he find eternal peace and salvation.

Mr. Worthington will be missed. His commercials made you want to go out and buy that car from Cal because you could relate to him. Go with GOD and Rest in peace.

I remember Mr Worthington's Ford dealership on Bellflower in Long Beach. My Dad was in the Navy and stationed there. My Dad accepted an assignment to recruit in Chico, CA, several years before Mr Worthington bought his ranch in nearby Orland. Despite his wealth, Mr Worthington was a down to earth guy. Rest in peace, you will be missed very much!

A true Southern California legend. You will be missed by those who grew up with you and 'your dog Spot' urging folks to 'Go See Cal.'
