I had the pleasure of working for Bob in the early 80's at Grant/Jacoby. He was the best boss I ever had and a kind and generous man full of surprises.
He will be truly missed.
Although the homeless and the hungry in Lincoln Park long benefited from Robert's generosity (and cooking), his community benefited, too: untold numbers of people knew of his example and emulated it, becoming committed supporters of programs to help their most vulnerable neighbors. As a Catholic member of the community, moved by my new Pope's eonderful example of concern for the poor, I see that Robert "had it right." May he rest in peace, and may his memory remain an inspiration.
Bob was a wonderful man. He supported me in my early days in advertising and he will be sorely missed.
