My husband, Scott, and I would like to extend our deepest sympathies over the passing of your father. I hadn't seen Truman in years, but I remember him and his wife, Artie, well. My mother, Nancy Scott Latas, was a classmate of Artie's (sorry to learn of her passing in 2010). Unfortunately, the last time I saw them would have been at my mother's 50th high school reunion, quite some time ago.

Truman was one of my Uncle Jim Scott's oldest and best friends. I remember many of Truman and Artie's visits with my Uncle Jim and Aunt Dorothy. They had many enjoyable times together. In fact, one of those times, was at our wedding on July 25, 1981.

Thank you for mentioning that Truman worked in the auto industry when he arrived from Kentucky. So few people reading his obituary, would have had any idea that he worked for the "Scott boys" in Western Michigan. That meant a lot.

Once again, we are sorry for your loss.

My father worked with Truman at Scotts when we moved here from Sacramento. I remember meeting him when I was younger when he would stop by to see my dad before he passed away. He was very well liked by all of our family and will be missed.

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.
