Allen "Snook" James Marcel Sr., 83, a native and resident of Houma, died Tuesday, March 30, 2015.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Thursday, April 2, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Paul A. Verdin and wife, Glenda, Allen Marcel Jr. and companion, Shirley Daisy, and Glynn Marcel and wife, Linda; daughters, Marion Marcel and companion, James M. Meche, and Faye Marcel and companion, Ronnie Comeaux; grandchildren, Tyron Verdin, Shawn H. DeHart, Jamie Marcel, Misti Marcel Kohmann, Ronald Billiot Jr., Jacob Marcel, Leah Billiot and Zachary Billiot; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd Marcel Sr., Gerald Marcel Sr. and Richard Marcel; and sisters, Yvonne Porche, Ella Rae Cunningham and Marie Ledet.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Fitch Marcel; daughter, Laura Ann Marcel; great-granddaughter, Kamryn Marcel; parents, Nolan Marcel Sr. and Lucille Marcel Bonvillain; brother, Nolan Marcel Jr.; special friend, Mazie Rome Cambre; and sisters, Alice Soudelier and Jeanette Marcel.
Snook enjoyed going to the casino with his brothers and cousin. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed going to the camp.
