Mr. Durning served as our Salute Chairman for VA in the late nineties...we spent many hours in the car and many hours visiting veterans in VA hospitals. He was genuine! A great and talented man. He will be missed!

I am so sorry for you loss. I have admired his film career, and didn't know about his service to our country until I was looking on line for my Uncle's obituriary and saw Charles information and noticed that he was in the Battle of the Bulge, which my uncle survived along with one other in his platoon. It would be interesting if they had know of each other. Rest in peace and thank you for serving our country and say Hi to my Uncle Big John Kolich.

Im sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Durning. He Had a passion to make people laugh, we need more people like that. My condolences to your family. Psalms 46:1 mentions that God is a refuge and strength to get us through the most difficult moments. May He do that for your family as well..
