Almost a year has gone by since David's passing and I still think about him almost every day and because of that I wanted to write in this book again. Everyone who knew David knows what a special person he was. David was able to create fun and a social life for all around him. All you had to do was look at him and it would bring out a smile. When his old friends get together, we talk about him and laugh. His kindness and thoughtfulness was very special. David, we all miss you very much.

Hthis is probably too late to write a note, but I just now saw the news of David's passing. Such a wonderful human being...I know he left a big gap in the Deane family. I met David during his first year at L.S.u. A big smile and twinkling eyes. R.I.P. Jeanne Truly Davis

To the Deane family, I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Deane, as I knew him, was truly a one of a kind, great husband, father, cook, and tennis player. Michael and I had some great memories together with Mr. Deane. Some of my favorite ones were quail hunting in George West, Little League at Voss West, and his coaching about life, girls, and how to deal with problem kids in our neighborhood (CJ). I will always remember his story about the bobcat in the suitcase on the side of the road. Phi Alpha, the Phoenix burns bright out of the ashes. All my best, Birdman, Scott Wren.

Liz, Katie and Michael...I was so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Your dad was such a lovely man. He always made me feel so welcome in your home, and ALWAYS made me laugh. Love you all so much. Hugs to you all, and your beautiful mom. XOXO
