Donald "Don" Lamar Curry , of Houston, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 84 years of age. Don was born September 16, 1928 to Henry Carter Curry and Frances Ruth Henson in Corsicana, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University where he obtained his BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1951 and began his career at Pan American Pipeline Co. where he met his wife Katherine Curry. After their marriage in 1952, Don served in the Air Force for two years, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After his discharge, Don and Kathy moved to Houston, Texas and Don was employed by Dow Chemical, for whom he would work for 35 years until he retired. The family moved to Europe and travelled extensively during his tour there, living in Holland and Italy for 8 years. After moving back to Texas, the family settled in the Houston area and have lived there since. Don was an avid golfer and loved to read. He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed by the family who survived him, wife Katherine Hutto Curry; sons Mark and Paul Curry; daughter Donna Dees; grandchildren Jessica Furst, Robert, Matthew, Timothy and James Curry, and Donald Elrod; sisters Jo Seavey, Helen Yates, and Mary Hart.
