I was John's childhood babysitter. So, I didn't get to meet him as the wonderful adult he obviously became. I will always remember him as cute, little JohnJohn. I have many fond memories of reading "Chatterduck" to him about a zillion times, his playfullness, and of his infectious laughter. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Dear Frank and Family, John was wonderful to work with. We were able to make a lot of positive changes because of his vision and leadership. He will truly be missed. I pray that God will grant you peace in the days that follow. To his friends it would be great to keep his memory alive by leaving a permanent memorial in the City he grew up in. The best thing to honor his memory for those who knew him in the EMS world would be to continue to strive for excellence and innovation in all that you do.
You were a great paramedic student and I enjoyed being in your education process. You became a leader and LCEMS grew under your past leadership. Peace be with you into your next journey
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family, friends and co-workers, John. You will be missed.
To the Family of John Accomando...I pray that the Heavenly Father will weave his hands in your everday life to give all of you peace and comfort in your time of loss.
I was blessed to have hired John in the STICU at Memorial Hermann and watch him grow into his role as a RN, espically making the transition from parmedic. It was a cause for much laughter. John had a wicked sense of humor, demonstrated compassion to his patients and families and loved his children. You will be missed.
John was my student in the nursing program at San Jac. He was bright, enthusiastic, and a joy to teach. He came back after graduating to talk to new students. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family.
I knew John since Junior high in League city. The first time I met John was when he worked in the library and then he volunteered in the police force. He was always such a great guy and nicest person you would meet. It was a pleasure to have known him.
John you will be missed more than you know. Your presence brightened a room and your smile made others smile. You gave so much of yourself for others and helped so many. We are all troubled by your passing because like you, we all help others and feel lost that we failed you. May Lauren and Andrew cherish the amazing man that you were who laughed, loved, and gave. God bless and soar forever among the angels.
Dear Roslyn and Frank,
I was deeply sorry to hear about your son John. When I looked at his picture, it reminded me so much of Jay. I don't know why, maybe its because of the head phones he's wearing. Sheila and I send our sympathies to you and family. You are in our prayers. Sincerely, June Granger(Loreauville,La.)

I was blessed to work with John as a new paramedic at Hermann Life Flight. I did not work with him as often as some but seeing his smilling face and hearing him crack jokes made the drive to East base well worth the trip. John's influence to my career and life will never be forgotten.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
This always helps me and John you will always be with us everyday
You always had two things for me. A smile and a smirk that kept me honest. You are missed.
