We just learned of Lionel's passing because I looked up your information so that we could come and drop off something for you. The kids and I are extremely sad for you. Lionel always had such great concern and kindness for the three of them every day when we would see you on the Seabrook trails. He will hold a special place in all our hearts. Please call us anytime. We would love to bring you something for Christmas!

Dear Garcia Family,
I recently learned of Dr Garcia's passing from your sister-in-law. I remember Dr Garcia as an outstanding member of the veterinary medical profession and the Seabrook- Clear Lake community. He was very supportive of me when I started my practice in Deer Park and during the years that followed. I will miss him in the community of veterinary medicine and life.
Dear Noemi, Rose, Carlos, and Paul,
We recently learned that Lionel passed away, and we want you to know how sorry we are for all of you. We thank you and Lionel for being in our lives.
From the bottom of our hearts, we wish to tell you how special Lionel was to all of us. We would like very much to join in the celebration of his life, if that special day has not yet taken place. It would have been so good if Lionel could have stayed with us for a longer time. We wish all of you the best of everything. Now that he is so close to Jesus, we should be praying to him for his help and guidance.
Love and prayers,
Ray and Jan Sis

Dear Naomi and family,
It's been many years since Lionel and I graduated vet school in 1965. I was at the AVMA convention at a reunion of A&M vet classes when I heard the sad news. You and Lionel baby sat for Kay and I when our first daughter Dorie was an infant. In vet school Lionel and I were always placed next to each other as we were seated alphabetically. I admired his wit, enthusiasm and his ability to branch out into the arts, literary as well as musical. In short he was an inspiration for me.
I am retired now and am living in Baton Rouge. I have a daughter and 3 grandkids in Houston. Other daughter in San Marcos, CA..
Would love to call and chat if you are up to it. You can reach me at 443-758-3599 or at JoelGoldman1942@gmail.com.
With heartfelt condolences,
Joel Goldman, DVM
Naomi I am so sorry to hear about Lionel. Lionel was a good vet but a truly talented writer. I have spoken of him often to share his writing and wonderful gift of description. Please know that thoughts and prayers will be coming your way in the days ahead. We are in New Mexico for the summer or I surely would be at the funeral.
Just last week I was telling my husband and grandsons about my years working for Dr. Garcia. The office was full of laughter and, at times, tears. Dr. Garcia was a rare find in life. He always made sure that we learned new things every week. He would challenge us with new medical terminology and never failed to reward a job well done. I continued to work within the animal field and have met some great people but none who has ever affected me as Dr. G. He was, by far, my favorite boss.
My heart grieves at his passing and smiles at his memory.
Dear Noemi and family,
Our family felt blessed to know Lionel as he was always kind to everyone. One of our favorite memories was the day we met both of you enjoying nature by the bay so we visited and walked together...we will always remember. We offer prayers for you and Lionel.
Naomi and family,
No words can express your loss. Lionel was a great friend and a great neighbor. We were shocked to hear the news. We are still in Maine for another week. God bless your family and we will talk to you when we get back. Kenneth and Elizabeth Miller from Todville.
