Knowing Joe definitely enriched my life. I enjoyed his and Betty's friendship through the Great Books Club here in Houston for more than 20 years. I am sure he is organizing a new group right now in heaven. Joe was never at a loss for words and luckily his words were always worth listening to. My heart goes out to Betty and the rest of the family.

I will surely miss our morning conversations on the front porch at the farm. I'll always remember those good times while working with him. From cleaning the barns to building the garden, he was never without a smile on his face while working out there. He always had a story to tell or a lesson to teach me. My favorite job and favorite teacher without a doubt.
