It is so warming to see that already, so many people have posted comments about their remembrances of my grandfather. I know, as well as all of you, that he was truly a wonderful person. In case you haven't seen it, we have built a website in his honor which will remain online for many years to come. Please feel free to visit www.marcffontaine.com and post photos, sign our guestbook, and more. From the Candela family in Colorado (your grand and great grand children), We love you Bon Pa!

I was sorry to hear of Marc's demise. We were classmates at LSU in Chemical Engineering. I graduated in 1950 with him for his first and my last degree.
Sincere condolences to the family.

I still remember when I was about 6 or 7 and I had my pants leg caught in the chain of my bicycle in front of the Fontaines house on Sylmar.I was out in the street crying and Mr.Fontaine came running outside and freed my pants leg from the chain.I never forgot that and respected him.

My parents George and Kay Bruce were neighbors with Marc and Dorothy for over 40 years! They looked after each other's houses and got the mail when one of them was traveling. In later years when Mom's health was going down and Dad was trying to take care of her, they were a great help to them, going to the store or running any errands as needed, and most importantly when they fell several times they went over and "rescued" them. Marc even took my Dad to get stitches once when he fell outside. They were wonderful neighbors and my sister and I felt comforted knowing they were right next door if we could not get there quickly. He was such a kind man and will be missed. Love and Sympathy to all the family.
