KIRK DAVID BREGMAN (KIRKY) born April 2, 1969, son of Joel and Kay Levy, and the late Eugene Bregman, died April 1st. He was a very loving son, amazing brother, special uncle and a best friend to so many. Kirk walked through life with the greatest of ease, and his infectious smile and hearty laugh brought happiness to the many lives he touched. He created so much joy for his large family and many friends. He had such a great way with people. No matter if you were a long time friend or a new acquaintance, younger or older, he made you feel like you were his best friend. Kirk loved sports, and the Texas Longhorns were his passion. Being with friends and going to games meant so much to him. He was one of a kind who loved life as he lived it - with fun, laughter and good times. Kirk made everyone he met feel good and happy and he was a loyal friend to all. He never met a stranger. Kirk will be deeply missed by so many. God needed an angel and a good laugh. Kirk is survived by his sisters and brothers, Kim Levy, Kris Johnston, Ellen Rottersmann and Sandy Lundy, Bruce and Joanne Levy, Julie and Scott Silverman, and Billy and Whitley Levy. He is survived by his nieces and nephews Spencer and Avery Johnston, Meredith Rottersmann, Katie Lundy, Shauna, Carly and Andrew Levy, Zachary, Megan and Lexie Silverman, and Palmer and Margot Levy, and so many adoring Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. His brothers and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Kirk's friends Greg Kewekordes, Rob Smith, Yonny Demeris, Chap Jacobson, Mark Katz, Murray Kalmin, Kenny Steinhart, Cameron Smith, Jeff Burke and his multitude of other close friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Kirk's honor to MPS Society (mpssociety.org), Texas Heart Institute (texasheart.org) or Congregation Beth Israel (beth-israel.org) or the charity of your choice. Funeral services for Kirk were held Wednesday at 1pm at Congregation Beth Israel, 5600 North Braeswood, Houston. Graveside services followed at Congregation Beth Israel Memorial Gardens.

So shocking! You will be missed my friend. I just talked to you on the phone on Wednesday! Same chipper self. Cracking jokes, making me laugh! I still picture your smile and infectious laugh! Sunday, I was going to call you back and then saw the news in disbelief. I know God is smiling. You are in a happier place. Until we meet again my friend. Reflecting on the years I have known you. You will be missed.

Kirk was my across the street neighbor/friend who brought laughter and joy to our lives! He really knew how to entertain my kids. And how gracious he was to dog-sit our boxer while we lived in Italy for a year! We love you, Kirk!

Kirk, I know it has been a couple years since I last saw you but I feel like it was just yesterday. My heart is so heavy and I hate knowing that you are gone. I remember the first time I met you, you cracked me up and made me feel like we had been friends forever. And one of the last things I remember you saying (over and over again) was "see you around campus!" You will be missed by so many.

The past couple of days I have been reflecting on my friendship with Kirk. He always had a smile on his face and made me laugh. We shared many great times together listening to live music, hanging at Kenneally's and just talking as friends. I will miss his infectious laugh. He was such a sweet and happy person. My condolences to his family. May it bring you peace to know how much he was loved by all.

Kirky,
You always asked “what ya thinking”? Today, I am thinking our group and our lives will never be the same. You meant so much to all of us and you will be greatly missed. You always said “what are you writing a book”? If I was, it would be filled with wonderful memories of Rockport, UT games and, yes, even Kenneallys. You forgetting your entire suitcase in Austin, ignoring the channel markers and running the boat into the marsh (sorry Kay and Joel) and so many more! Kewe and I love you and will never forget you, buddy!!!!
