Richmond, Ivor L.
Ivor L. Richmond, age 86, of 1936 - 31st St., Two Rivers, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, August 21, 2013 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, after a short illness.
Ivor was born March 5, 1927 in Two Rivers, a son of the late Richard and Elsie (Henning) Richmond. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers, and served with the U.S. Navy in 1945-46. On June 26, 1948, he married Mae Arneman at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on August 18, 1978. Ivor was employed at Hamilton Mfg. Co. for over 40 years, retiring in 1989. In his retirement, Ivor enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, listening to Polka music, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed the fish pond in his yard. Ivor was a former Pioneer leader at St. John's Church; he played a lot of basketball and softball in his younger days; and was a huge St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Survivors include his four children: Larry Richmond of Manitowoc, Renee and Kent Messman, Tracy and Chris Rusch, and Daniel Richmond, all of Two Rivers; eight grandchildren: Robin Richmond, Tanya Richmond, Stephanie (Josh) Willis, Zac (Heather) Stanull, Dylan Rusch, Dayne Rusch, Josh Richmond, and Logan Richmond; two great grandchildren, Harper Stanull and Andrew Willis. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters: Joyce Fogeltanz and Dennis Richmond, both of Two Rivers, Jan (Jane) Richmond, Sheboygan, Darrell (Barbara) Richmond, Michigan, Gail (Larry) DuVall, Washington; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mae, he was also preceded in death by one son, Dale "Shorty" Richmond; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Lily Arneman; four brothers, Lyle, Merle, Glen, and Keith; three brother-in-laws, Harry Arneman, Alan Arneman, and LeRoy Fogeltanz; and two sister-in-laws, Caroline and Judy Richmond.
Funeral services for Ivor will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 - 18th St., Two Rivers. Rev. Joan Frost will officiate at the service, with burial in Forest View Cemetery at a later date. Military honors will be accorded immediately following the service by members of the VFW Post #1248 and American Legion Post #165 of Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Saturday morning after 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
