Herzog, Marie J.
Marie J. Herzog, age 92, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Baptist Hospital, Pensacola, Florida.
Marie was born May 4, 1921 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Markowski Gadzinski. Marie had been employed with Mirro Aluminum, Weyerhauser, and Lakeside Canning Company in past years. On June 25, 1941 she married Norbert L. Herzog at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death January 14, 2002. Marie was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and formerly a member of the Christian Women of the former Holy Innocents Catholic Church, the VFW Auxiliary and the Manitowoc Senior Center.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Allen and Fay Herzog, Shakopee, Minnesota; one daughter and son-in-law: Paulette and Joseph Fabbo, Summerdale, Alabama; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Josephine Gadzinski; husband: Norbert; eight brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier. Burial will take place at Knollwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at which time prayers will be read prior to leaving in procession for the funeral service at church.
